Nouha Gorani-Homad

My work seeks to capture the essence of a nameless sensation evoked generally by certain sounds, or smells, or sights, or touch. Drawing on memories of the richness of the evoked moments, I would like to think that my drawings and paintings communicate the intensity of my response to these reminders of past experiences, whether lived or imagined, in a way that is both suggestive and vaguely reminiscent of what is felt rather than expressed. I draw the images I absorb into the sketchbook I keep especially for my pictorial narratives of an emotive nature. My miniscule watercolours and pen-and-ink or pencil drawings, held together by a narrative, may eventually lead to a work of larger proportions.
